Notes from the field

I started hockey when I was 5 years old, at MHC de Reigers in Hoofddorp and switched to Pinoke when I was 15 years old and started in U16. I study 'Commerciële Economie/sportmarketing’ at the Johan Cruyff Academy in Amsterdam. In my spare time I like to  spend time with my friends and family. I also really enjoy playing padel.

Pepijn's Ritual

Right after the team line-up, as we walk toward the center circle, I tap the 23-meter line with my right foot and then step onto it with that same foot. It’s a small habit, but it helps me shift my focus and get ready for the game ahead. Just before the whistle blows, I take a deep breath and look around the field. That moment reminds me to give everything I have and to play with full confidence.
