Notes from the field
At my primary school you had to play sport for the school at a certain age. I was playing club rugby but at the school I wasn’t old enough to play tackle rugby. A few other mates had the same problem so we decided to play hockey together and never looked back. Since then I have made 50 international appearances for the Black Sticks, playing in both the 2018 Commonwealth Games and World Cup and more recently the 2019/20 Pro League Season. In addition to my hockey career, I have recently started working for a company called BECA in New Zealand as a landscape architect after balancing professional hockey and study for a long time.
